Certified and renowned clinical nutritionist Natalia Rose, in her book titled The Raw Food Detox- Diet: The Five-Step- Plan for Vibrant- Health and Maximum- Weight Loss, discussed the importance of vegetables in weight loss. To prepare this detox drink, you will require:
• 1 turnip
• 2 beets
• 2 celery stalks
• 3 kale leaves
• 3 carrots
• 2 garlic cloves
• A half onion
• A half bunch of parsley
• A half cabbage
• A half bunch of spinach
Load all these items into your blender with some water, and puree.
3. Dandelion Tea Detox Drink
Sonya McLeod, a classical homeopathic practitioner, says that dandelions are a good source of calcium, iron, potassium and vitamin A. According to Sonya, dandelion-detox tea is a diuretic, that when used will remove all toxins from the human body through the kidneys and liver. She recommends that 6 tablespoons of 1 year old dry dandelion root be brewed with 12 tablespoons fresh dandelion leaves in approximately 4 cups of purified & boiling water. Other variations on this recipe include adding 2 teaspoons of well crushed dandelion leaves into a cup containing boiling water, and letting brew for between 8 and 10 minutes.
4. Lemonade Detox Drink
The ascorbic acid in lemon assists in the cleansing process. It is also known to be the staple drink of Stanley Burroughs’ Master Cleanse. Making this lemonade detox drink is simple. You just need to mix 2 table spoons of fresh lemon juice, 2 table spoons of pure maple syrup and 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in approximately 8 ounces of purified and clean water. The proponents of Master Cleanse recommend that you drink between 6 and 8 glasses of this powerful lemonade drink and avoid eating anything during your cleansing. This lemonade drink is very popular, but some nutritionists do not advocate for its use as it lacks essential nutrients.
5. Fresh Cranberry Juice Detox Drink
According to the Mayo Clinic, cranberry juice can help in preventing ulcers and urinary tract infections. Cranberry juice contains antioxidants, manganese and Vitamin C. Cranberry juice has not yet been advocated by any organization or body, but it has become one of the most popular detox drink for those who want to lose weight. Two 16 oz. glasses of full strength cranberry juice can be consumed on a day to day basis by healthy individuals, according to practitioners from Mayo Clinic. To make cranberry juice, just follow these steps:
• Dilute one part cranberry juice in four parts water.
• Now add just 1 tablespoon each of psyllium and apple pectin in order to stimulate intestinal elimination.
